History of Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh witnessed many dynasties, other then the Reign of Maurya Dynasty,the pallava dyansty,the chalukyas, the cholas and more. In the 13th century kakatiya ruled from warangal, at
the same time muslim power was also started rising and the sultan of Delhi started showing his power by slowly capturing the state and established its power in 1323. The Muslim reign was displaced by
vijaynagar Empire.There was a continuous struggle between Hindu and Muslim powers until 16th centruy when qutub Shahi dynasty was eablished. The famous stone fortress Golconda was built during the Qutab
Shahi dynasty. In the year 1687 Aurangzeb captured and ruled the state. In the 18th century british captured the entire Andhra Pradesh whereas the Hyderabad was still ruled by Nizams till the Indian
Independence in the year 1947. The first time, the Andhra state was formed in the year 1953 for Telugu speaking people with Kurnool as its capital. Second time in 1956 the state of Andhra merged with the Telangana
region of Hyderabad State to form the state of Andhra Pradesh.

exotic tomato puree) is also
widely taken.

a pudding made of cashew nut and
bread), 'Qubani-ka-Meetha'
(stewed apricot dessert), 'Ande-ka-Piyosi'

candy) and 'Dil-e-Firdaus'(milk-based
sweet) constitute the dessert.

name that lingers on the mouths
of everyone is Hyderabadi
Biryani. Distinguished for its
exotic aroma and rich taste made
tantalizing by the use of pure
ghee, Hyderabadi food is the
highlight of Andhra Pradesh. The
spices used are culled out from
the bowels of earth. Hyderabadi
lamb is also famous for its
unmatched flavor. This cuisine
bears influence from the Mughal
period.
